Michelin-starred restaurants in Palma: the most exquisite mouthful

Palma is a fantastic destination for a journey through flavour, and an absolute ‘must’ for any ‘foodie’. Thanks to the wide variety on offer, you can try typical Mallorcan dishes such as ‘frit’ or ‘tumbet’ in many restaurants, but also innovative and surprising creations from the kitchens of renowned prestigious chefs.

Nivia Born Boutique Hotel has put together a guide to the local restaurants that have been awarded a Michelin star, where every tiny detail is taken care of so that you can treat your palate to something extraordinary. You won’t be disappointed.

Marc Fosh (calle de la Missió, 7)

Marc Fosh was the first British chef to receive a Michelin star in Spain, and his cuisine is remarkable for its flavour, technique, and creativity. The basis for his dishes is seasonal Mediterranean produce, and you can sample these delights in the modern restaurant space that is part of the Convent de la Missió Hotel. There is also a charming patio terrace where you can enjoy a special evening.

DINS Santi Taura (plaza de Llorenç Villalonga, 4)

Santi Taura takes his inspiration from classic Mallorcan recipes and presents modern cuisine to diners in an elegant space within the El Llorenç Parc de la Mar Hotel. The chef from Lloseta, prioritises classic, familiar flavours over any artifice. Depending on the season, you’ll discover a different tasting menu which includes a minimum of 11 courses.

Zaranda (calle Bala Roja, 1)

Hypodermis, Dermis and Epidermis are the suggestive menus by chef Fernando Pérez Arellano, in charge of Zaranda, located in the Es Princep Hotel. The Michelin Guide provides this summary: “Impeccable presentation, delicate textures, the island’s best produce, successful pairings”. Are you tempted?

Adrián Quetglas (Paseo Mallorca, 20)

Quetglas combines the flavours of his birthplace in Buenos Aires, with the Mediterranean and what he’s learned working in London, Paris, and Moscow, to bring you a 5-course lunch menu (Tuesday to Friday) and 7 courses in the evening. The restaurant has a bistro ambience that will enchant you as soon as you walk through the door.

Es Fum (carretera Palma-Andratx, 19, Palmanova)

“The dishes, which diners can only experience via two menus (Petit Menu and Tasting Menu), tell a tale of a warm and creative cuisine with a marked Mediterranean influence, although the menu is enriched with a nod to Asian and Latin American cuisine”, says the Michelin Guide. A few kilometres outside Palma, at the St. Regis Mardavall Hotel, you can sample exquisite cuisine created by the Canarian chef, Miguel Navarro, with the Mediterranean as a backdrop.
