Between the 26th of May and the 4th of June, the Paseo del Born will welcome the 41st edition of the Palma Book Fair (Fira del Llibre de Palma), organised by the Mallorca Booksellers Guild. Over the ten days, 22 of the island’s bookshops will present an extensive programme of activities and the latest literary publications. If you visit the Born, you will be able to enjoy workshops, storytelling, poetry recitals and erotic tales, concerts, book signings, etc. There will also be a homage to two outstanding Mallorcan writers: Maria Antònia Oliver and Antoni Serra. The opening speech will be given by Ramon Bassa, a professor at UIB and author of the collection ‘De mica en mica’.
Over thirty writers will be present in the streets of Palma to present and sign their works at various spaces and stands provided by the organisation. Among the well-known participating authors will be Sebastià Portell, Imma Monsó, Megan Maxwell, Sandra Miró, Krao, Rebeca Stones, Catalina Alou, Dora Muñoz, Irene Solanich-Sanglas, Raquel Gámez-Serrano, Miquel Àngel Ballester, Carla Nyman, Míriam Tirado, Marta León, Luna Javierre, Defreds, María Esclápez, Gabriel Bibiloni and Alice Kellen.
With the slogan ‘Som de llibre’, (we stand with books), the Book Fair aims to revindicate the culture of printed books, defending conscious reading, and quiet reading, in line with the concept of slow living. This year, for the convenience of those attending, the event programme has been designed in a pocket format for the first time.

Nivia Born Boutique Hotel also embraces slow life as an important attitude to achieve a full and happy life. With this in mind, we’d like to invite you to leave the stress, the rushing, and the auto-pilot behind… to abandon the frantic rhythm we are used to and take the book you’ve just bought to our rooftop bar, El Cielo del Born, and give it the time it deserves as you enjoy a delicious brunch (available between 8 a.m. and 12 noon) or your favourite cocktail. Check out the other gastronomic options available that will combine perfectly with great prose here.
