Start of the Garden Hotels Luxcom Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2024

The day has finally arrived. Today, Mallorca inaugurates the professional cycling season in Europe with the Garden Hotels Luxcom Challenge Ciclista Mallorca, a race that brings together the best teams and cyclists in the world and that this year reaches its 33rd edition with expectations sky high.

If you are a cycling enthusiast, you can’t miss any of the following events: the Calvià Trophy (Wednesday 24th January); Ses Salines-Felanitx Trophy (Thursday 25th January); Serra de Tramuntana-Selva-Lluc Trophy (Friday 26th January); Pollença-Port d’Andratx Trophy (Saturday 27th January) and the Palma Trophy (Sunday 28th January).

Mallorca, Mecca of world cycling

The elite of cycling – a total of 24 teams – will be together on the island for five days in which riders will cycle through some of the most beautiful spots in Mallorcan geography, with a very favourable climate that promises to leave great and memorable moments. The participants will cycle past emblematic sites such as the Monastery of Lluc and Puig Major and, in the south-east of the island, they could take part in the season’s first big mass sprint. A spectacle for fans of this sport that will culminate on 28 January in front of the iconic Cathedral of Mallorca, with a 150 km lap that is less demanding than the two previous days in the mountains.

The Challenge Ciclista Mallorca Femenina comes into existence

A day later, the Canadian Magdeleine Vallieres Mill won the Bellver Castle Trophy, while on the last day (22nd January) the Italian Eleanora Gasparrini won the Binissalem-Andratx Trophy.
