As well as on the beach, summer in Mallorca also begins with art! The ninth edition of Art Palma Summer kicks off with a vibrant cultural offering of more than 30 exhibitions and 60 artists who, between 6 pm and 9 pm on Thursday 6 June, will ‘take over’ the capital of Palma.
Organised by the Art Palma Contemporani association, this annual event will bring you closer to art. With exceptional visiting hours, you can enjoy quality cultural leisure activities that will run continuously over the following months.
An ambitious programme
A total of 23 venues, including galleries and institutional spaces, will be present at Art Palma Summer 2024, which also includes the towns of Andratx and Pollença. Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of solo and group exhibitions by emerging and internationally renowned artists who will showcase a wealth of plastic languages. See the full programme.
Artistic quality and female talent
Among the international artists present will be Jannis Kounellis, Joana Vasconcelos, Manolo Ballesteros and Nicolò Baraggioli. In addition to this, women will be taking centre stage this year, with exhibitions by Victoria Civera, Gema Polanco, Lydia Gifford and Lin Utzon, among many others. The spotlight will also be on local artists like Julià Panadès, Joan Costa and Grip Face, a further example of the event’s commitment to Balearic talent.
Activities and guided tours
Apart from the exhibitions, Art Palma Summer 2024 offers an extensive programme of free guided tours that will allow you to explore the artworks in depth and find out more about the artists and their creative processes.
Nivia Born Boutique Hotel will be there too
Nivia Born Boutique Hotel, sponsor of Art Palma Summer, will once again be the rendezvous point for the main art galleries. Its facilities, including the spectacular rooftop overlooking the Cathedral and the Bay of Palma, provide the perfect setting for you to admire the spectacular sunset while enjoying a sophisticated range of dishes or a refreshing cocktail. And you can do all of this before or after venturing out to explore the artistic novelties of Art Palma Summer 2024, an unmissable event!
