It is now a tradition. The arrival of autumn heralds the celebration of one of the most deeply-rooted festivals on the island: the Fira Dolça (Sweet Festival), which will take place in Esporles on Sunday 1 October. If sweets are a temptation for you, you can’t miss on this big event showcasing the the great classics of Mallorcan confectionery. ‘Ensaïmades’, ‘cocas’, ‘rubiols’, ice creams, ‘crespells’, ‘gató d’ametlla’, chocolates of all kinds… The Fira Dolça is a real dream for those with a sweet tooth.
Once again this year, hundreds of bakeries and shops will bring you the best artisan and local products in the dozens of stalls that will fill the most central streets of the town centre, adorned for the occasion with lively decorations. You’ll find giant hanging cupcakes on Passeig del Rei, for example.
In addition to delighting the palates of children and adults alike, the 17th edition of the Fira Dolça will also feature a wide range of cultural events that bodes well for a fun-filled Sunday. For the occasion, several concerts (Pep Suasi, Banda Lira Esporlerina, Rondalla de Maristel-la and María Bimbolles), a performance by the Castellers de Mallorca, ‘showcookings’, parades with ‘xeremiers’, exhibitions, cooking workshops, wine tastings and much, much more.
